Drilling Holes In Airfilter Box

I have a K&N airfilter in my 88' v6 4runner. Ive heard that drilling a few holes in the airfilter box brings out a few more horsepower and gives it a nice sound. Does anyone know anything about this, and if so where to drill the holes and how many to drill?

See if you can't adapt this mod - maybe with a different size deckplate:

Thanks for the link, unfortunatly the airbox in my car is more rounded so i dont think that one will work for my car. Anyone with any other ideas on it please post..

Thanks Brian I was trying to remember where that link was.
I REALLY like the one mod that looks like they used a shot gun to remove the bottom of the air box. Some people should never be introduced to hammers!

does this work with all types of stock intakes? or only for the older models?

The idea works on all types. The goal is to open the box up to as much air as possible. Just keep in mind that water in the intake is not good.
