Drilling Holes In Airfilter Boxsurfpunk17 01-23-2005, 04:59 AM I have a K&N airfilter in my 88' v6 4runner. Ive heard that drilling a few holes in the airfilter box brings out a few more horsepower and gives it a nice sound. Does anyone know anything about this, and if so where to drill the holes and how many to drill? thank Brian R. 01-23-2005, 09:42 PM See if you can't adapt this mod - maybe with a different size deckplate: http://www.wattora.com/Mods/deckplate/ surfpunk17 01-29-2005, 04:20 PM Thanks for the link, unfortunatly the airbox in my car is more rounded so i dont think that one will work for my car. Anyone with any other ideas on it please post.. Brian R. 01-29-2005, 05:17 PM Ok, so you're not happy with that... Try this one http://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech/joey_airbox/joey.htm :) surfpunk17 01-31-2005, 02:07 AM Thanks i think im gonna try that one out Brian R. 01-31-2005, 12:02 PM You're welcome 4Wheel 01-31-2005, 05:00 PM Thanks Brian I was trying to remember where that link was. I REALLY like the one mod that looks like they used a shot gun to remove the bottom of the air box. Some people should never be introduced to hammers! Brian R. 01-31-2005, 05:03 PM You are right veritasconnor 02-19-2005, 04:23 AM does this work with all types of stock intakes? or only for the older models? corbinwaterski 02-19-2005, 10:59 AM The idea works on all types. The goal is to open the box up to as much air as possible. Just keep in mind that water in the intake is not good. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
