Steering Wheel Problems

Hi everyone!

I am new here, so forgive me if I miss some information or if I upset someone.

I just bought a 92 Eagle Talon TSI. My steering wheel moves (about 15 degrees in each direction) without having any affect on the steering wheels. Also, it seems like I have to have the steering wheel turned slightly to the left in order to have the car go straight. At higher speeds (100 km/h), the steering wheel jerks back and forth as the car goes straight. Any ideas on what to check first? I don't think it is rotors, as I had warped rotors on my previous car and it did not behave like this.

I checked the 1000 answered questions, but did not find a suitable thread. Hopefully I didn't miss one. Some websites suggest possible problems, but the list is quite extensive and I am not quite sure what they are talking about. Any help and advise is very welcome! Thanks in advance!

I am not sure on DSM's but it sounds like either a steering box needs to be tightned up or a steering coupling..or both. Like I said I'm not 100% sure on DSM cars.

it sounds like it's your tie rod ends.

Thank you for steering me in a certain direction. This gives me something to start looking at! If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know!
