Is there a way to receive video in the navigation screen on 2005 nissan pathfinder?Johncaob 01-22-2005, 01:48 PM I just bought a 2005 nissan pathfinder. I has factory dvd player in the back and navigation screen in the center of the dashboard. I can select Rear AV to listen to movie but can't watch video on the navagation screen. Please help brclay_76 01-31-2005, 03:42 PM Ahh the joys of a Federal requirement. Apparently the law makers in DC think that you and I can't drive and watch a DVD at the same time, they may be right. Anyhow, all car makers aren't allowed to have a dash mounted screen, or anything in the drivers view, play a movie, DVD or really anything. So how do you make it work? This is an out there guess, I haven't torn mine apart to try it and don't really recommend that anyone does. I believe that Nissan probably used two different types of monitors. The one in the back accepts a regular line signal(TV), while the front one takes a 7 or 9 pin computer style monitor plug. So there isn't really any way to just connect the two. But, you could probably rig something up. I'm pretty sure that I saw a converter at Radio Shack that would switch a line signal to a monitor signal. That would solve the signal problem, but then you'd have to splice into the video feed for the navidation system and put in a switch so that both feeds wouldn't hit the front monitor at the same time. Sounds like a whole lot of trouble for the benefit of watching a DVD while driving. It probably voids just about every warranty and maybe your insurance too. An easier solution would be to install one of those Visor LCD screens. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
