93 voyager power windows intermittent outageaskolejim 01-22-2005, 03:00 AM All of a sudden my power windows started to not respond to pushing the up or down swith. After a time they would start to work again. When they stop working neither side will work, when they start working again both sides work. Bought a new 30 amp circuit breaker. Worked a couple times then quit again. Put old one back in - nothing. Put new one back in - nothing. A couple days later they worked. Now they don't again. Any insight will be appreciated. theFREAKnasty82 01-24-2005, 12:13 AM are you checking from the driver's side switch or do you check both switches? If they don't work when you check the driver's side switch, you could have a bad master switch (driver's side switch). askolejim 01-26-2005, 11:51 PM are you checking from the driver's side switch or do you check both switches? When one doesn't work the other does not either. We (Wife & I) check it from both sides as we are usually both in the car when the subject comes up. She quit trying when she is alone because every time she let the window down it would not go back up. In other words, when it quits, usually with a window down in freezing or rainy weather, we cannot operate either window from driver's side and cannot operate passenger side window from passenger side. Something is tripping the breaker. It eventually resets (so far) and lets us close the window, but that may be from a couple hours to a couple days later, and then the windows don't work again for a couple hours/days. The power window wings on each side in the rear that are operated from the ceiling console are unaffected by all this. theFREAKnasty82 01-28-2005, 12:17 AM what I would do is take the power window switch off from both doors and see if there's corrosion in either the switch or the connector. Since your van is 12 years old, corrosion build up is very likely so check for that and see how that looks. rodeee 02-02-2005, 01:53 AM These switches often fail from corrosion, because they are so close to outside atmosphere and age. Another possibility is the Notorious, breaking of the little wire harness inside the forward door jam. The jackets of the wires get very brittle (probably bending from opening and closing the door, the plastic becomes work hardened) then the copper part fails and thus no connection. This happens rather regularly. I have an 89 caravan and the driver side failed multiple times already. Many splices later, and itll fail again I know! askolejim 02-15-2005, 04:45 PM Thanks freak & roadee, I'll get into the switch check as soon as it gets warmer.
