I know very little about cars. I just bought a used car and the lady that sold it to me said that she had taken it to a mechanic and that he told here the car needed a new relay that controls the fuel pump. She said something about it being up under the dashboard somewhere. Does anyone know where this relay is located??

The reason it needs replacing is that sometimes the car won't start when it's warm--either the car being warm or the ambient temperature is warm. Most of the time it'll start right up at night when it's cold. But once the car does start it runs like a dream.

PLEASE HELP!!!

This topic has been discussed a lot on this board. The relay is on the extreme left side of the drivers side under the dash. It has about 6 wires connected to it through a plug. It can be repaired by resoldering the leads connecting the relays to the mounting board or replaced.

Thanks so much!! And when you say under the dash, do you mean look up under the steering wheel on the driver's side, or am i going to have to dissasemble the dash to get to it? Thanks again!!!

While laying on your back and looking up between the steering wheel and left side of the car, it is up above the fuse box on the outside wall. At least that is where it is on the 90 Accord.
