This is in regards to a 1994 4x4 with auto trans? I didn't think they went dipstickless on the 4L30E until 1996-ish?!?! If you dont have an ATF dipstick, you will have two plugs facing downward on the larger trans pan. The plug higher up on the pan is the fill/level check (stamped/recessed into the rear right corner of pan). ATF should just dribble from this plug on a hot, idling truck, in neutral on a level surface.

Where is the trans pan located? I couldn't see any noticible plugs.

There are 2 hex head bolts on the bottom of the gray pan on the 4L-30E tranny.
