Spec V Warrantycoolj990 03-12-2002, 01:17 PM I am planning on buying a black Spec V in the next few weeks. I want to add an exhaust, intake, and drop it for starters....Does anyone know what you can do without voiding the 3yr/36,000mile warranty? thanks. babyskyline 03-12-2002, 07:03 PM I was wondering the same thing. Stylin, do you have any info on that subject? Peace:alien: spizec v 03-12-2002, 07:14 PM whats up everybody i bought my spec about a month ago and my dealer said that nuthen will ruin tha warenty unless its a direct cause to the problem with the car coolj990 03-13-2002, 05:28 PM Anyone else know what their dealer said about the warranty? babyskyline 03-13-2002, 06:41 PM Hey man, I got a question about what the dealership told you. So does that mean like, lets say that I have intake, exhaust, lowering springs and maybe even headers, your pretty much saying that no matter what we put in to it, as long as the cause of the problem wasn't due to the aftermarket parts they will still warranty the car? hinggu 03-14-2002, 04:32 PM hey guys, i checked with 2 dealers in my area and they said that everything you put on a car (even a turbo) will not void any warranty unless the problems are directly linked to the after market accessories babyskyline 03-14-2002, 05:01 PM COOL......I'm gonna talk to my dealership and see what they say.:alien: Sanchi 03-14-2002, 08:59 PM :p :silly2: :silly2: :p ALL you impatint buggers!!!!.... NISMO coming soon ya all cant wait huh ;) j/k :D :D :sun: :flash: roc_face 03-14-2002, 11:04 PM You will only void the warranty on what you replace. I was at the dealer today and he said if I install an aftermarket exhaust then the warranty I've voided is the one for the exhaust, nothing else. It's not an all or nothing thing. Hopefully the aftermarket product that you buy has it's own warranty though. You wouldn't want to get screwed both ways. muphasta 03-15-2002, 10:32 AM Has anyone replaced anything yet? What kind of performance can you expect from different intakes/exhausts? I am not into lowering my car, but I would like to maximize it's performance. Thanks, And where is a good place to find info out on such products? hinggu 03-15-2002, 08:46 PM muphasta, not much has came out yet for the car...i went to my performance shop and they said that the injen intake may be a good purchase (coming soon) and can expect 15hp to the wheels. i think this may be a little much but it is dyno proven that injen intakes provide 18 to the wheels on a acura rsx. for exhaust, you can probabaly expect about 10hp (according to the shop), but should get a mandrel bent cat back. i'll keep checking to see what is coming out and what the actual tested figures are muphasta 03-18-2002, 09:46 AM hinggu, Thanks for the info. What are some good sources of info on aftermarket products? I've never owned anything worth modifying before! Any particular mags or websites? hinggu 03-18-2002, 11:36 AM muphasta, sport compact car is like my bible. i find that they test many products on their project vehicles and show the hp and torque charts so readers can get a visal the type of gain the car experiences when the mods are put in place. However, they have only modified a older se-r but the way they have hyped up the specv, expect a project vehicle from them. you can check out a tidbit on the latest and past issues at this website: www.sportcompactweb.com i usually don't like to go the manufacturers webpages since they usually blow up their numbers and don't tell you the disadvantages of their products. muphasta 03-18-2002, 11:45 AM Thanks again, I am gonna get me a copy of that rag today! From what I understand, there is a CD-rom of the specV in the march issue too! What color did you get on your specV, and what options did you get? hinggu 03-19-2002, 11:50 AM i bought a black specv with the sport package option. i'm not sure if it is the same as in the states, but i got the specv with all the options in canada. i think the states comes with an in dash 6 disc as well as the fosquate system, but i did not get that. it was hell finding this car. the dealer phoned me after i placed an order and said no more specvs for another 6 months, but they found one in manatoba for me as for the cd rom, i am not aware but keep me posted!! muphasta 03-19-2002, 12:47 PM I opted for the abs and side air bags. I am not sure what would come in a sport package, as the car is pretty loaded!! I used to work in a stereo shop, and I still have connections so I can get deals still. I will get a better stereo cheaper this way. I am just curious as to what the kit looks like, because the radio's have an odd shape. TTSER02 03-19-2002, 03:18 PM My intake got from place racing and the dealer said that he cant use the machine to get the correct stock readings and thats why he has to void my WHOLE warranty. F**K FOOTHILL NISSAN! anyways does anybody know y my car idles so bad from the CAI.? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
