Need Diagnostic code

Okay, trying to see why the engine light is on for my friend's 1990 Camry Le V6. Shorted out E1 and T1 to get get the diagnostic code. What I got was 1 2 2 5 2 6 7 1. Then it repeated. Can anyone tell me that those are? thanks

When you say "shorted out' I assume you mean you place a jumper between terminals TE1 and E1. Also, battery voltage 11V. or more, throttle valve fully closed, transmission in neutral, accessory switch off, and engine at normal operating temperature.
From your codes, it looks like your friend has a California emission system on his car. The two digit codes are as follows for the '90 2VZ-FE (6 cyl.)
12 (RPM signal) No NE or G signal to ECU within two seconds after engine is cranked. Check: Distributor circuit, Distributor, Starter signal circuit, ECU.
25 (Calif. Air-fuel ratio lean malfunction)
26 (Calif. Air-fuel ratio rich malfunction) Both of these situation can be caused by a disconnected oxygen sensor. Ignition circuit malfunction will also cause both the 25,26 codes (see code 12) Also check air flow meter, ECU, Injector circuits, air flow meter, air intake system.
71 (Calif. EGR gas temp. below predetermined level during EGR operation) Check EGR systems.
Based on the above, I'd first make sure the car is warmed up before taking the codes (if the car runs). If it doesn't run then check the RPM signal at distributor. If the car is cold when the codes are taken, all but the 12 code should be discounted. Keep in mind these codes will remain stored in the ECU memory unless they're cancelled out.
