No P/S to P/S5 Point 7 01-19-2005, 09:12 PM This might be the dumbest question I've asked here but, I bought an 87 Dakota for work/daily driver and it has NO Power Steering and it's a BITCH trying to just get in and out of gas staions, smalls road etc here in cramped baltimore, so what I'm leading at is it possible to convert non-P/S to P/S, and also would it even be worth it costwise? theFREAKnasty82 01-19-2005, 11:58 PM you can convert a non p/s to p/s. you'll have to get a pump, pressure line, return line and a new steering rack in addition to a new drive belt to incorporate the power steering pump. I've seen it done before, it can be a little costly and takes some time to do, but can be done. 5 Point 7 01-20-2005, 02:39 PM ok, thank you. So in other words I can't drop the truck off at the shop and say "hey, put power steering in it" That really sucks!! BleedDodge 01-20-2005, 04:16 PM Well you could drop it off and get it done I think, but it would cost big money. 5 Point 7 01-20-2005, 06:52 PM Hmmm, none I'm trying to spend, I was just looking for a little convenience but that would be INconvenience. But thanks guys. The truck was only $500 with a newer jasper, so I guess I'll live without P/S. Thanks again. 85chevy4x4 02-03-2005, 02:55 PM you could go to a wrecking yard and get all the parts for it for cheap or just stick with manual steering :S vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
