My latch broke last summer, I actually found one on ebay... It came in the little baggie with Chrylser and the star right on it. My guess - dealer.

I just got one last week at a junk yard, about 1-2 bucks! Took it home installed it, forgot I had it pulled up on lid and broke the new one! Oh well!!

Just bought a latch from the dealer for 19. Local junkyards didn't have one and parts stores just gave me the runaround. Two screws and two minutes to change it out. Mine was for a 97, probably the same type.
