95 diesel starterchuck's 01-18-2005, 11:06 PM I pulled the starter out of a 95 dodge 2500 4x4 with 5.9 cummins (standard tranny) to find that one of the starter contacts was worn out.Does anyone know where you can purchase replacement contacts?Starter part number4741012(Chrysler),3921682(Cummins) and 228000-2290(Nippondenso).I tried Cummins,Chrysler,Toyota(they use Nippondenso) and even the local parts stores.I find it outrageous to pay hundreds of dollars for a part that probably costs two.I guess this is what you can call a modular component.Any help would be greatly appreciated. chuck's BleedDodge 01-18-2005, 11:12 PM Hundreds of dollars for contacts, or the entire starter? chuck's 01-19-2005, 08:42 PM The starter costs 350 dollars.I am hoping to just change the contacts.I was able to do this with my toyota. The dodge and toyota have nippondenso starters,so I was hoping to do the same for the dodge, but indications are that I'm not as lucky. An inexpensive repair may be out of the question. chuck's Thomas359 02-07-2005, 02:12 PM Try this site it might help http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/ chuck's 02-07-2005, 07:22 PM Thanks alot. It's exactly what I was looking for and much more. chuck's vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
