2000 Intrepid - 2.7 L - Running Coldjohn corvette 01-18-2005, 02:35 PM I have a 2000 Intrepid - 2.7 L - Running Cold. It seems slow to warm up. I question if I need a new thermostat. I have never changed A THERMOSTAT on an intrepid. I looked the thermostat housing over and it looks a bit tight around the air plenum. How hard is it to change a thremostate on a 2000 2.7 litre intrepid? Are there clearance issues I should be aware of? I see an electrical loom (wiring harness) that runs tight between the thermostate and the intake plenum housing. Does anyone know of any online pictures of the thremostat and hosing I can reviev. I am looking for an exploded parts type picture so I can see all the parts and gaskets I will be dealing with. I do not have a repair manual for this car either. Are there any online type manuals that will set out what the disassembly and reasembly sequence is for this 2000 - 2.7 intrepid thermostat housing? theFREAKnasty82 01-19-2005, 12:25 AM That hose you are looking at in not where the thermostat is located on the 2.7; that the water inlet pipe and adapter. The thermostat is on the drivers side bank of the engine behind the alternator; it's on the bottom. The easiest way to take off the thermostat is remove the alternator and remove the two bolts that hold the housing in place. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
