BGK 44 fuel cleaner? Anyone useRamblin Fever 01-18-2005, 12:25 PM this before? Went to the dealership to get more oil filters, they gave me a can of this BGK 44 injection fuel cleaner as a complimentary item. Never used this stuff before. I use only Shell, Texaco, Phillips 66, or Amoco gas and I just changed out my fuel filter 6K miles ago. Truck's running good, however, I've had it for almost 8yrs and have never had the injectors cleaned and/or serviced. Would it do harm to run this through? I'm curious to see if I have lost any power - you know you get so use to driving a vehicle and you swear up and down that it hasn't lost ummph; but I'm curious to see if it has. Would like to hear from others first - any pro's/cons to running this specific cleaner? Another question, do I need to change the oil after running it through? amigo-2k 01-18-2005, 12:49 PM I would suggest against it. Since you have +140k on the ticker and you have never used such a product before, there is a good chance that you may free some gunk up from the bottom of the tank that may plug up you fuel filter and maybe even the pick-up screen. If you have never had the injectors cleaned before, it might be worth the 100 bucks to take to to a place that will pull the fuel pump fuse, and then plug in a can of cleaner into the fuel rail. The truck will run for about 10-15 minutes on the pressurized can of cleaner, and will do a much better job of cleaning, then just dumping a can of cleaner into the tank. my 2 cents. -Ryan SOLSTER 01-18-2005, 08:16 PM amigo-2k is likely right on! If you're interested, there was a thread I posted about BG44K, search my profile for thread I've created, and look it up! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
