3 or 4" liftstevelock 01-17-2005, 02:03 PM Looking to lift my stock jeep. It’s a 96 sport 4.0(HO) Inline 6. About 90k on it. I’m looking to do it right .I use this jeep for driving to work (about 50 miles a day) so I want it to ride good on the road as off road. Not going to do any rock climbing as there is no place for that around here on long Island New York. Now that that is out of the way...... Want to go about a 3" or 4”. Need to know what kit is best to use, and what else I would need to make it right. I looked at some of the kits online not sure what way to go. any help would be good. If you feel the need to flame please go elsewhere. scuba4321 01-17-2005, 07:53 PM me I would do the 3" lift that way it would reduce the aditional things like brake lines, cables ect. that would require modifications. As for brand cannot help you with that. :2cents: stevelock 01-18-2005, 12:02 PM anyone else ? gtmud 01-18-2005, 01:11 PM Yes, I would go with the 3" lift, there will be a couple things to change, but not as major as a 4" would require. I believe with the 3" lift you can go with 31's. Look at Rubicon Express, or Rusty's offroad, or the Super lifts. You will need new brake lines for the rear, and I think for the front too. Also recommend getting the proper swaybar links. Good luck. mx52nv 01-19-2005, 01:37 PM why spend the money because it sounds like it will never see more than a dirt road? paulsenior 01-19-2005, 02:41 PM I just bought a 3 inch lift, what else do I need to buy to install safely correctly. 91 XJ sport stevelock 01-19-2005, 05:02 PM why spend the money because it sounds like it will never see more than a dirt road? just what I wasn't looking for. some smart a-- with nothing better to do. hey thanks for all your input mx52nv 01-19-2005, 07:24 PM better to be a smart one than a dumb one mx52nv 01-19-2005, 07:26 PM Oh I have lots of great things to do. Such as off-road events and trail rides, as some of us do use our Jeep as intended. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
