Does anyone knows how to open a headlight in a 99 GC Laredo? I need to get the front plastic cover out - so far I've managed to open the upper part of it. It seems they used some kind of glue on it but i didn't have any problems with opening a small crack on top. The bottom is very hard to prop open and i don't want to break it. Any tips or clues on how to do it? Should i drill through those little metal bolts on the bottom? Please, any help will be appreciated!!!

I don't what it is you're trying to do, but hopefully the other headlight replacement thread on here will help you.

Well, i shipped my jeep to Europe, and I need to change my headlights due to different regulations. New headlight is about $800, so i'm trying to "fix" my american ones. :)
What I mostly need to do is to make my parking lights be white instead of orange while turned on.
So what I'm trying to do is to take the outside plastic cover out, cut off that plastic orange part inside (not all of it, just the one by the middle bulb) and glue everything back together.
Has anyone ever done anything similar? Thanks for help.

That sounds like alot of fun....NOT! That's weird that you have to make it white instead of amber. I seriously don't think anyone here has done that or had to do it. I would suggest using a heat source (such as a heat gun) for loosing the adhesive, but I'm no expert at that kind of stuff. Give me a wiring problem and I might be able to help you out. Becareful not to melt the plastic if you go with my suggestion.

Are you sure that you don't have to just replace the bulb?

sounds like a job for the cutoff wheel and some epoxy. cause these puppys aren't suppoused to come apart. i'm supprised new ones cost so much. if you tried a dealer look somewhere else i looked into new assemblys for my 99 and they were like 130 give or take about 20 bucks...good luck
