i've decided not to use suede for the interior after seeing a car with it, it just wore really bad after a while. i'm thinking about using maybe a gucci fabric or something. i won't even consider using a vynal. there is a dark blue(almost black) gucci denum fabric that would look really cool but i don't know if it would be tacky to use it in a car. i haven't decided if i use it if i'll go all leather on the seats or use a little of the fabric on them. what ya'll think or any suggestions?

i would just do a 2-tone leather pattern...maybe bring your greenish-blue exterior color along with a light grey. i think that would nice...

i dont care for that whole gucci and burberry fabric...popular for a little bit but it is getting old. :D

Keeping Classic is always a good way to go. The problem with patterns and interesting material is that they stand out...initially that is good, but you can get bored really easily. Leather is always nice, but for something cheaper maybe Neoprene (wetsuit material). Try here http://www.legacyseatcovers.com
maybe that will help you.

i would go witha leather theme two tone the Z seats and have a apolstry person stitch a Z into the seats. Change the color of the trim and paint the dash a matching color, paint the vents and so on. Would be sick... I was gonna stick with the tan leather and get a light light tan white for the trim.

Gucci or burberry wouldnt look good my 2 cents. Because i think that shit should go into lowriders like impala regal and cutlass. I think a sports cars theme should be leather heated :) specially the 3Z :)

i'm gonna use leather on the seats but don't know what to use on the dash, console, door panels and trim. leather is hard because of the different angles and it bunches up and corners because it doesn't stretch much. i might just go with the suede.

i like that neoprene idea...that sounds pretty cool!!!

as for the dash, hmm...just paint it to match the seats...or how about some mink fur???

There are many different grades of leather...some does bunch, but you could get combination of soft and tough leather for different parts of the seat so it will wear better. I also love that "Z" emblem idea. Nothing tops off a classy interior than a sleek Z :D . As for colours, i'm a black and silvery gray kinda guy keeps it simple and sleek.

sorry, i didn't mean that i would cover the dash only the lower part that is accented to the rest of the interior. the bunch problem with the leather isn't on the seats its on the trim pieces, i work with many different grades of leather since i do all the upholstry work on the cars i build. i like the dash the way it is and only want to change the trim and redo the seats. i already ordered the leather for the seats but still have to decide about the trim peices. i need to decide soon because my new doors will be coming in soon and when i prime the outer and paint the inside i want to recover the trim on the door panels while they are off. i though of going with tweed but haven't found a color i like. the way its going i may end up going suede since i already have the material.

yeah, if you cant do leather go with the tweed or the suede. i still like that neoprene idea, especially right there. should hold up very well...i dotn know if you can find it or work with it but i think it would be cool and different!!!

I personally think a naked lady would be a good accent for your interior, or are you talking about a different accent?

I would prefer a naked lady with an accent. And if that's the case some washable seat covers will do just fine. :evillol:

That is why neoprene is so popular. It is extremely durable and you can wipe it down and not harm it....not to mention it hardly fades with sunlight. :D
now back to the subject at hand...suede should be ok but it needs a lot of care to keep it nice. The best way of going about it is getting it treated with 3M or Teflon initially and it will wear a whole lot better. You could go crazy and order some crocodile skin from here (Australia), they are farmed so it is ok. :D
