ive always had honda cars, crx's to si's to integra's but now i just bought a 02 typeS with the budget i had wich was a bitch to find cuz i didnt have enough for a 05. i had my first race with the car againts a gst eclipse, dayam i couldnt believe the speed when i hit third, i just past him like he was a pinto or somtin. vtec hits nice on it but wat im askin is is there any real need for mods for it, if so wat would be the best pick overall?

Theres never any NEED to mod a car, but some of us just cant help ourselves. The mods you put on it will all depend on what your looking for out of your car, if you want a lot of horsepower then go with forced induction, if you want a good N/A car with a little extra hp then just do your regular bolt ons and put some cams in there, also if your going to mod it one thing i have to reccomend is k-pro, if your keeping it n/a then you will see more hp with k-pro than any other upgrade. www.hondata.com

kool the cams sounds nice, im not plannin to make it all raced out cuz its still a daily driver to for school and girls haha. is the cam gears a bitch to tune? imma start of with a intake first tho, can u hear the engine more when u install that?

get some headers and aem intake they help a ltl if u wanna start off ltl then start working ur way up click that link www.hondata.com its a good site i got the book books pretty good to dont tune ur gears yet do everything else and when ur waiting for a paycheck then tune ur gears

If you're going to own an Acura, don't embarrass the rest of us who had to earn a college degree to get one- speaka da england, pleeze. As far as NA mods are concerned, I will step in for Canuck this one time- because his hands are cramped due to typing the same goddamned thing fifty million times.

A CAI or SRI in conjunction with a quality shorty or race header and Hondata will provide excellent gains. As the Type S already has a very free-flowing stock exhaust, the main reason to install an aftermarket catback is for sound. New tires are a must up to 05, and a suspension drop, sways and short-shifter kit would also be good investments. A car with these mods will be a quick, tight, yet very reliable daily driver.

Don't be a Ricer.
It is possible that he decided to stop racing you after reaching the legal speed limit.
Racing any car beyond third gear can reach speeds that will tag you with a felony arrest and vehicle impound.

I dont know what your talking about him being a ricer about that. He was probably just talking about how well the rsx-s pulls in 3rd gear, it reminds me of the old integra's 3rd gear that just pulls you like a bat out of hell. Sure its possible that the other car stopped racing but its also possible that his car just pulled past the eclipse quickly. Racing a car at all can put your car in the impound and get you arrested, its just something that some people do for fun.

I'm sorry I'm having some trouble with that. You passed him like he was standing still... even alone beat him. Now I have a friend with a gsx; keep in mind that the gsx weighs more than the gst. now my friend raced a rsx type s. with cia exhaust pullys and cam gears and the rsx could hardly keep up with the gsx with a type s bov and uic piping and that is it. I'm sorry i just don't see how you could have beat a gst that bad. Sorry but im going to have to call B.S to that.

Maybe you saw a gs oz and assumed it was a gst that i would believe but the gst no.. they have the same spoiler so i could see how you could get them confused

Oh, and as an addendum: Remove all gaskets to decrease weight when installing aftermarket parts. Also, get your rotors chromed.

Not me...I bypassed that whole hornet's nest and just removed the bulky windshield. A while back I also replaced my ecu with a Pop-Tart.

The brakes rotors are metal though, I think removing those would be much better, its also unsprung weight.

Yeah also try removing the motor because i heard those thing are super heavy and with that out of your car u will definitely run into mid 8's. ^_^ Why do u guys like loud exhaust? Those are soo dam annoying and retarded (sorry if i offened any1 with loud exhaust). Its like i hear a car going fast but its barley moving around 25mph...

I'm not always a fan of loud. Loud and fast have somehow become synonymous. I live in the city- all day long I see POS cars with loud exhausts. 90 percent of them are underpowered junk. I do, however, love the rumble of a well-tuned Japanese engine with a quality exhaust (like an Sti) or a good V8. Sleepers get more respect than a blatant earsplitter in my book though...

But you gotta love the sound of these k-series engines when they hit about 5000rpms, the sound you get out of an intake is awesome. Now a fart can is a fart can, kinda like this toyota pasaeo i saw on campus today sounded like it was about to explode and was only going about 5mph.

I find I laugh at most ppl whose cars are very loud because its obvious to anybody who know anything about cars that odds are it is completely gutless. Somebody with a powerful car doesnt need to let the exhaust ring every time they drive...

Yeah siv, I agree. Stock with an intake it almost sounds like a CBR sportbike (but deeper) coming at you from 5500 up. The hiss from the intake sounds like a jet engine. I never realized how good it sounded until I heard one bomb past while I was walking. Tack a catback and header on and it's even better.

And Mas- I can totally picture Canuck blasting some Clay, rolling with a Maple Leafs hat on sideways, sipping Cristal out of a plastic cup and cruising for biatches. Don't be a hater, homes...you best recognize the C-Unit.
