Help! My transmission is in the default mode... it shifts ok manually but not in "D". I have taken off the position switch and cleaned it. It was full of crap. I reset the comp. by disconnecting the battery and touching pos. and neg. together. Fluid seems ok. Any ideas or thoughts would be great.

After the range sensor cleaning, do the "PRND321" lights on the dash line up exactly with what gear you select with the floor shifter? If the lights dont line up, your range/mode sensor is shot. If the lights are ok, so is your range sensor.
