Got a 1996 2500 diesel. When I set the cruise control, the truck will accelerate to the point of being wide open if I were to let it go that far. Also at the time that this began to occur, the left front door speaker has developed an occasional crackling and popping sound. I'm guessing that the two symptoms are related. Anybody ever experience this before?

I had a 97 Ram with the same problem, not the speaker though. Cruise would accelerate on it's own. Had it to 3 different Dodge dealers and no one could fix it. Got a new 98 Quad cab for my troubles.
