Relays

Does anyone know if the relays under the hood 4cyl are readily replaceable. I think I may have caused a problem when trying to remove the 100A ALT relay because it appears to have been blown. DOn't know if I should have take the car to a dealer to replace it. Also how do you properly remove thoose components if they don't slide out easily.
