Okay, i got the P1494 (evap emission ventilation solenoid switch or mechanical fault) light on in my eclipse, and i was wondering if it would still pass CA smog. It runs awesome, just had the head rebuilt about 2k miles ago and (at least to my nose) doesnt seem to polluting. Can u even take a CA smog test with the CEL on? Also i've tried searching, but what would be the either 1) cost or 2)procedure involved with fixing that problem.

if you have the light on when you're getting tested, you automatically fail. You also can't tell if you're polluting because many of the gasses they test for are colorless and odorless, the one thing thats easiest to see, Particulate Matter, isn't even tested for.
