b16 check engine codes help

i have a 90 si with a b16a1 and at first everything was fine after the swap and now the check engine light comes on and the ecu dosent flash a code the ecu light stays solid red. what does that mean? not only that but sometimes when i turn the car off when the check engine light is on the car wont start and when i turn the key it just clicks. the engine is stock. when i drive with the light on it feels like it bogs and when i hold the gas steady it feels jumpy. when i disconnect the negative battery terminal usually everything goes away for a little while and the car drives normal. please give me some feedback and hopefully solutions to my problem. thanks
