Nissan MID-4!!!k3smostwanted 01-13-2005, 08:28 PM well, along time ago, i said i had a book with the nissan mid-4 concept car in it. well i scanned the page with it on there and i decided to post the concept car which eventually turned into what we call the Z32!!! http://img120.exs.cx/img120/48/image0014nm.th.jpg (http://img120.exs.cx/my.php?loc=img120&image=image0014nm.jpg) if you dont have a program to enlarge it...it was a 330bhp all wheel steering and all wheel drive, mid-engine concept car...it was powered by a V6 twin-turbo charged engine. enjoy!!!! 1viadrft 01-13-2005, 08:32 PM Nice... I think I posted something about this car awhile back! Nice job, Jason! Good find! Keep that book! I have yet to find a published article about the Mid-4... as far as i know this is the only one outside of Japan. k3smostwanted 01-13-2005, 08:35 PM maybe...the book is called "Concept Cars" by Chris Rees BlackBettyZ 01-13-2005, 08:37 PM cool read, i like the z32 body style better than that mid 4.. kinda looks like a ack nsx and a ferrari combined. good thing the performance heads at nissan changed shit around to develop are beloved Zs of the late 80s early 90s k3smostwanted 01-13-2005, 08:39 PM cool read, i like the z32 body style better than that mid 4.. kinda looks like a ack nsx and a ferrari combined. good thing the performance heads at nissan changed shit around to develop are beloved Zs of the late 80s early 90s well that is very impressive looking for an 85' design... anyways, i will scan some more nissan concepts that the book has later tonight... 1viadrft 01-13-2005, 08:40 PM The concept evloved into the Z32... BlackBettyZ 01-13-2005, 08:42 PM the z31 and z32 style is more practical, my 2 cents k3smostwanted 01-13-2005, 08:43 PM the z31 and z32 style is more practical, my 2 cents obviously you do not understand the purpose of a concept car!! BlackBettyZ 01-13-2005, 08:46 PM I thought they actually made those cars... dumbass 1viadrft 01-13-2005, 08:51 PM LoL Who's the doooooooom-ass? BlackBettyZ 01-13-2005, 08:58 PM i was reffering to myself 1viadrft 01-13-2005, 09:20 PM Right... like I said :) DeleriousZ 01-13-2005, 09:35 PM too bad... that car was years ahead of its time i would have owned it for sure 1viadrft 01-13-2005, 09:49 PM Yeah... all of the R&D (V6 Twin Turbo, AWD, AWS, aerodynamics, etc.) all lead to the technology we now find in ol' Z32's and the R32-R34 series... it lived on in soul and heart with the Z's and Skyline's! freakonaleash1187 01-13-2005, 10:37 PM i do remember seeing that somewhere, it was probably on here from 1via. it does look like a cross between a nsx and testarossa. -Jared -The Stig- 01-13-2005, 10:54 PM If you have the Bestmotoring International DVD "Skyline Prodigy" you get to see the Mid4 up close and they go into detail on it. They even show it drivin around, And I think they also launch it... don't remember. I'll have to watch it again. k3smostwanted 01-13-2005, 11:35 PM i dont know...but that thing would have been unstoppable!!! AWD that makes all these other cars quicker than the Z32 (ie: VR4, STI, EVO, GTR)...none of them would have been able to hang with the AWD 330bhp of the mid-4 and dont even bring another car to the track...MR layout with a 4-wheel steering system. that thing would have handled like a lotus and accelerate like a vette!!! pretty sweet for 1985...nissan rules the automobile industry!!! freakonaleash1187 01-13-2005, 11:40 PM mmmm, yes it does, for the level nissan is at. -Jared Hodo 01-14-2005, 01:07 PM I wonder how hard it would be to do a Mid-4 conversion......... Just need to find a Skylines drive train. 1viadrft 01-14-2005, 01:21 PM How hard? Um... very hard... you would have to take what ever car you are trying to 'convert' and make it a mid-engined car, plus retro-fit with a Skyline drive-train as you stated! Save that money and buy the real thing! 1 of 3 Mid-4's in the world are practically priceless BTW... Hodo 01-15-2005, 07:26 PM Hmm..... I could probly do something like it just wouldnt be mid engine..... it would still be a front engine. Perhaps I could use a VQ30DE, with a skylines drivetrain, and see if I could shift somethings around.............. I may have to do some research and see if it would be possible, without rebuilding the floorpan of a Z32. But after having my car up in the air a few times, I would have to say it wont be cheap, or easy. Doubt I will attempt it anytime soon, if ever. k3smostwanted 01-16-2005, 01:09 AM hes definitely a very hard task i would say... i guess, with your N/A you would need to swap in the HICAS and AWD system out of a GTR. and along with the AWD system your gonna have to swap in the GTR trans. for the AWD option so your gonna have to bolt in an engine that will bolt to the GTR tranny...yeah expensive and a huge headache. might as well just save up for the 2007/8 GTR... 1viadrft 01-17-2005, 06:14 PM Did I ever mention to you guys about the Z32 with RB26DETT and AWD in my OPTION2 mag? Awesome... NSX-R 01-17-2005, 08:31 PM Yea that car's on sega gt online for xbox 1viadrft 01-17-2005, 09:18 PM Yea that car's on sega gt online for xbox What car? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
