I need some wheel advice please

Im thinking about buying some wheels for my car but i dont know anything about wheels. Does anyone have a brand they recommend or a website i can go to? I was looking at them but without having opinions or reviews about them its hard to choose.
Also, if im gonna choose wheels, do i have to know the rim size that is compatible with the car or can i choose any size and then buy tires to fit?

17 x 7 inch rims any brand or style you like.
