Also use like #0000 steel wool to help work it out. that shouldnt scratch it. Anthony Orosco 01-12-2005, 11:58 PM How do you get rid of rust on chrome? I have a chrome grille/brush guard and I would like to remove the ugly rust forming in two spots. Thank you Take some corn starch, sprinkle it on your chrome and then take a sliced lemon and go over it. Safer than steel wool and works great. If, after a few attempts, the rust won't budge then try some steel wool. Anthony fender1 01-13-2005, 09:00 AM Thanks guys. Chadm 88, any particular product you have used in the past that works well? Anthony, thanks, I will give the corn starch & lemon a try, how did you find that out? solaris=amazing 01-14-2005, 01:32 PM You want chrome to really jump out at you, put on NuFinish, it protects the chrome and removes surface rust. chadm_88 01-14-2005, 05:32 PM I use turtle wax chrome polish and rust remover, works great unless the rust is really deep Anthony Orosco 01-14-2005, 10:38 PM Thanks guys. Lemon, or better yet, citrus juice in general, is acidic and is a great cleaner. The corn starch acts as a mild abrasive. It works well and should work on your problem, unless it's really bad rust.
