Computerjaromir04 01-11-2005, 02:08 PM Has anyone tried to swap a computer from Dodge Caravan to Dodge Spirit? Any coments are appreciated. Thanks, Jerry. theFREAKnasty82 01-11-2005, 02:27 PM It might work, not 100% sure. If the caravan has a 3.0 with the 60-pin SBEC module and doesn't have the 4-speed automatic, I believe it could; though not totally sure, I've never module swapped, just replaced and reprogrammed. jaromir04 01-11-2005, 04:55 PM I thought that this way I could get the same power out as Caravan, without reprograming anything. I already have tranny in my Spirit from the Caravan. I am talking V6 3L. theFREAKnasty82 01-12-2005, 12:22 AM which tranny is it? The 3-speed or 4-speed? jaromir04 01-12-2005, 06:10 PM which tranny is it? The 3-speed or 4-speed? I am not sure, but it feels like prety close gear ratio. This is a rebuilt tranny from a Dodge van. theFREAKnasty82 01-13-2005, 12:50 AM best way to tell which tranny you have is to open the hood and look for a square, metal object with wires coming from it. If that's what you have, you have the 4-speed transmission. If not, and you see like a rod going from the throttle body to the transmission, you have the 3-speed unit. The reason why I ask which transmission you have, the 4-speed unit is electronically controlled and has its own seperate computer. Most of the time, those transmission computers aren't interchangeable. jaromir04 01-14-2005, 11:40 AM best way to tell which tranny you have is to open the hood and look for a square, metal object with wires coming from it. However, my problem is that by swaping the CCU I hope to get the same power as the same year Caravan. But, nobody seems to know if this would be feasible. Jerry theFREAKnasty82 01-17-2005, 11:09 PM I used to own a '92 Dodge Spirit 3.0, had decent power, but I'm not quite sure if you can get more power from a computer out of a caravan then you can from a spirit. You can, but you would have to do some mods to it, but just pop & swap, I don't believe that there's going to be much of a significant power difference. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
