Hello! I have a 95 Neon sport SOHC . I am new here so I will explane this as best as I can. For the past week my car has been acting up. It was showing up with error codes 12,43,41,11,54, :confused:
then about a week ago it when 43 started to come up it was as if the engine wanted to stall out ONLY when I first started driveing after about 5 mins of me driveing the car was fine till I turned it off and tryed to start it again than it would do the same damn thing! Stupid me i thought it was just the plugs or wires .. being I changed the plugs about a month before this started i thought maybe i did not gap them right. Also another thing it was doing was what sounded like a backfire under the hood. I found out that was coming from the throttle body. I also noticed that the engine was louder then it was before all this started.
so 2 days ago I went to start my car at work and it kept stalling then it died all together. so i changed the plugs,wires and coil. that did nothing.
when trying to start it i took off the air intake just to check and see i was getting air and when my friend tryed to turn it over flams came out of the throttle body..... Im stuck Iv thought of everything. Another clue o the problem is the car had a bad oil leak it was the oil pump. When my mechanic fixed that it was fine for a wile then about 2 weeks down the road it sounded like the timeing belt was banging the cover. I talked with my mechanic and he looked at it he said that it was the case being lose or the belt was lose that it was nothing big. So i let that go.
so now my car sits at my work and I have no idea what to do about it right now. I know if the timeing is off it will mess up the head :disappoin Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks

sounds to me like you jumped your timing belt...have it looked at...you could bend a valve stem if not done properly...

I had someone look at it over the weekend and they said its the belt jumping around. From the water pump. im going to get the parts friday and get it fixed sat morn. im hopeing that my head is alright.
