SRS alarm light "On" in Honda Civiccmy0b 01-06-2005, 06:54 PM Hi, I have a SRS light "on" in my Honda Civic-97. I asked my mechanic what it could be, but he said that only Honda dealers can fix this problem. I do not want to apply to the dealers because they are so expensive. Can anyone help on this problem? I appreciate your help. BennyBakwood007 01-07-2005, 08:35 AM Im not 100% sure but i think that is for the airbags, they may have been depolyed, or even removed before you bought the car, the same thing happend to my girls car, turns out the punk ass dealer she bought the car from took the airbags out and sold them, then sold her a car with no airbags...so either your airbags are not there or there is something wrong with them....i think exman98 01-07-2005, 08:58 AM yeah, i think it is the air bags. from what i have heard around my town is that when people break into cars they not only steal the sterios now but also take the airbags. they are expecive i think. it wont hurt to just talk to the dealer at first, just to see what you are dealing with. BennyBakwood007 01-07-2005, 09:57 AM Yeah man, you can sell an airbag for about 500-$600, i think dealerships sell them for a lil more than that...its a rip off if you ask me turbcivic 01-07-2005, 06:34 PM Calm down there. Just because the SRS light is on, doesn't mean that it is the airbags. Could be a seatbelt buckle or a impact sensor. Also a SRS code might trip due to the battery voltage being to low. At honda, we rarely replace an airbag due to the SRS light. cmy0b 01-10-2005, 08:00 PM Calm down there. Just because the SRS light is on, doesn't mean that it is the airbags. Thanks a lot for a professional answer. I will do exactly as you suggested and will report the results. Thanks again! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
