i just got my rodeo back from having a clutch put in it however only drives in third fourth and fifth and reverse gears ...the mechanic told me the tranny needs to be replaced and quoted me 900.00 parts and labor ...it seems pretty high to me ..my question is ..can a transmission be rebuilt for a cheaper price ,i have already looked into a salvage yard tranny but they quoted me 550.00 and the shop said 150.00 to put it in,i am purchasing this vehicle with the asummption that it just needed the clutch ...ive already put 680.00 into it including the clutch ,i just dont want to give up ...im trying to see if i can get the truck for free since repairs are costing over the blue book value ...any links or suggestions would be helpful ...thank you

Find another tranny mechanic and get a second opinion.
