another 4x4 actuator questionspooky 01-04-2005, 11:17 PM i recently replaced the front axle actuator on my 97 Z-71 with the electric motor upgrade along with the required wiring harness. 4 hi works fine, but when in shift into 4-low, the transmission doesn't want to shift properly. the new wiring harness is spliced into the brown transfer case wire. did i do something wrong, or did i overlook something else? thanks for any replies. Jeremy-WI 01-05-2005, 10:02 PM 4LO does affect shifting, it should shift at a slower speed. Did you use 4Lo much before the new actuator Silverado Brethern 01-05-2005, 10:18 PM My 4 low shifts much slower and much harder than in 2wd or 4 high. always has and if it holds together right always will, thats how it's supposed to be. spooky 01-06-2005, 12:29 AM yes i've used 4-low before mainly in sand dunes. it's as if the transmission doesn't want to shift out of first gear. it revs to 5,000 and won't shift into second. Jeremy-WI 01-06-2005, 08:10 AM Did you cut any wires that did not get reconnected somewhere, possibly the grn/blk wire at the transfer case switch? It sounds like the PCM doesn't know its in low range and operating on the high range shift points as far as speed/throttle position go vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
