I have a 94 s10 blazer with 2 ten inch Audiobahn subs and 2 6x9's. The 6x9's make a really loud humming noise it gets louder when you accerlate and picks up all kinds of noises from the car. I have tried jsut about everything to fix it, from new grounds, differnt amps, new rca cables, differnt cd player, and differnt speakers nothing has worked can someone please tell me what to do?

That's called an alternator whine..... try getting a line ouput converter.....also where are your gains on the amp for the humming speakers?

my gains are all the way up

That's your problems......gains are made to match input voltage not a volume knob........ go through and match up all your gains RIGHT and you won't have the problem......at least not as bad also if your RCA's and power wire are ran next to each other switch the side on one of them you can pick up some interference that way.

okay, about that... how do you know when you've set the gain to match the input voltage?

its not the gains that just makes it louder or less loud but the noise is still there. Someone told me that spark plug wires can cause a noise in the speakers like one i am having does anybody know anything about this?

I know its not the optimal way to solve the problem but theres these things called ground loop isolators... They work. I had a HORRIBLE whine in my speakers just like that, and I bought 1 ground loop isolator and hooked it inline with one of the 2 RCAs going to my 4 channel amp, and it solved the problem forever.

I had that whine with two Alpine type S 6x9's, and A Power Acoustik amp, I found out the whine was coming from the left channel of the amp...Now I have my Underpowered Xplod and it dosen't do it, same wiring same everything, but different amp (had the amp on my 6x9's for awhile, fried one, don't have a single clue how, they are 220 Watt max but now its powering my Kickers)...Just my Two Cents

did you install your RCA's through one side and power wire through the other side

I think i have figured it out its jsut the crappy wiring kits scoshe makes. Two people i know just got subs put in their cars and they both make the humming noise and they have the same wiring kit. I guess you get what you pay for.
