Word to the wise, unless you want to pull off your lower intake manifold and replace the lower intake manifold gaskets, be very careful removing the torx screw that holds the clamp for the fuel lines.

And the beauty of it is that this torx screw (27) has a round head and has been red thread locked ... :banghead: So make sure your torx bit fits very snug.

Now having to pull off a 10 year old lower intake manifold is not such a bad thing. As it turns out I had some major carbon build-up blocking some of the passages. So cleaning that out will definitely improve performance on a clogged engine.

Becareful... The torx on both my trucks (92 and a 95) were a t30 and the ones that came with my replacements were t30. If you are unsure, always start with the biggest and work your way down. Use the first one that fits.

The replacement nut kit from gmpartdirect should come with a replacement torx screw. It is easy to see which torx fits snuggest on the new screw, then try it on the one in your Jimmy.

Yip, the torx bit should have ZERO play when in the screw.

If you can wiggle it, it is too loose.

I used a small racket with a bit adapter and the right bit and I had the screw out in 10 seconds.

For the record, the torx bit is a T30. My bad. Good catch guys.
