[Progress] Project "Anti Jeep"ToyTundra 01-03-2005, 12:22 AM here is waht i've been up to. It is a CJ-7 with 4 wheel independent suspension (what all jeep owners hate) that is set up like a competition rockcrawler. it will have various sponsor decals. It features a Nissan v6 from a 300ZX TT but with out the turbos. The kits engine had what looks like an 8port intake manifold, but only six exhaust ports. to make it worse it was a V configuation as opposed to the traditional "straight 6." i'm not a big fan of the madd mudder tires, but they are the only ones wide enough to cover my undetailed steering knuckles http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/98952anti_jeep.jpg the sneak peak from my pathfinder thread http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/98952WIP_1.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/98952WIP_2.jpg coilover at every corner http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/98952WIP_3.jpg crazy armor/tube-frame that was build over the engine/trans so everything fit well. the wheels cover the spindles, so no need to waste a CV boot on what can't be seen. My original plan was to have drivline brakes, but there wasn't enough clearence, so there are actually no brakes... comments/ suggestions welcome lilbudman 01-03-2005, 12:28 AM Great work, but 4 wheel independent suspension, Mitsubishi wheels and a Nissan motor *cringe* you title is right man  Lil'budman cooltc2004 01-03-2005, 12:51 AM are you looking for a straight 6? I do have one that went in the 1953 corvette JTRACING 01-03-2005, 03:31 AM Thats awesome!! love the look of that thing! Wheelin75r 01-03-2005, 03:59 AM awesome work! willimo 01-03-2005, 10:43 AM Wow! Beautiful! I love the scratched frame. Just a fantastic bit of work! You should try to sort the driveline brake problem, that would look so awesome. Color me impressed, just remarkable! blubaja 01-03-2005, 03:11 PM Hey, Wow!! Thats a hell of a scratchbuilt roll...chassis/cage. Awsome. Did you use any jigs of suports while putting all that together? Keep up the awsome work! Frank X. ToyTundra 01-03-2005, 11:54 PM Great work, but 4 wheel independent suspension, Mitsubishi wheels and a Nissan motor *cringe* you title is right man  Lil'budman good eye with the mitsu wheels. i had to look at the emblems to remeber where they came from. @coolTC tempting offer, but the engine is perminently installed and i feel the need to dish out the hate with a v6 instead of a straight 6 there was no jig to support the cage under constuction. i started with a central point and built up, then added diagonals. I did start the over twice due to poor design. i used a plastic welder to keep flexible joints for the times things needed to be jimmied; if i worked fast enough. I am a jeep hater in the strongest sense of the word blubaja 01-05-2005, 03:06 PM Hey, What is a plastic welder? Frank X. Samurai75007 01-05-2005, 03:24 PM Ooo thats nice... ToyTundra 01-05-2005, 08:34 PM plastic welder melts plastic together. I use Tenax 7R because that's all my LHS carries. progress is slow because i've been busy mooving furnature (new carpet) and planning my 1:1's soundsystem additions. WeaPoN [X] 01-05-2005, 10:29 PM Awesome Project! JeFF blubaja 01-06-2005, 04:32 PM Hey, Lol. Ok. You should have said Tenax cus I know what that is. Lol. Too much metal welding for me these days. I thought I missed something that acctually welded like a metal one. Thanks, Frank X. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
