29 Ford Rat Rod truckslk320 01-02-2005, 11:08 PM My inspiration for this model came from American Hot Rod TV series on Discovery channel. Build by a famous American Hot Rod designer and maker, Boyd Coddington's garage. I love the stance of this old truck and thought I would recreate a truck similar to this one. Looks pretty much finished.(as a rat) Keep everything. Maybe add a bedcover, but that bed looks so nice itself. Keep up the awsome work. Frank X. drumcat 01-03-2005, 03:23 PM I thought the car on the show had a flathead v8 not a v6? anyway it looks bad ass GvEman 01-03-2005, 03:31 PM Nice! love rods! keep it up! Amazon 01-03-2005, 05:09 PM Looks nice to me, but i`m a little unsure about the placement of the distributor;doesn`t it pop up in the middle of the head between cyl. 2 and 3? primera man 01-03-2005, 05:20 PM These look really cool. How 'bout a roof chop willimo 01-03-2005, 05:40 PM Awesome! I was waiting to see who would make one of these. I really, really liked this truck much better than what Boyd put together for that show. It's not his style, so we'll forgive him for not knowing better.... I like this truck without the chopped top, it gives it that awkward look and keeps it just out of step with the chopped and smoothed everything rods but still keeping very classic lines and looking great! I wanted to do this one too, but you beat me to it. Just a note for next time - spray the body gloss and then apply the decals, and dull it down with semi-gloss or flat clearcoat. That will help the decal transfer film around the pinstiping to settle better and make it invisible. Gorgeous and clever work from you, slk, just what we've all grown to expect and respect from you. bill_kustomz 01-03-2005, 05:57 PM thats tyte.. the boyd shop truck is nice for an 8 day build! ChopinPorkChop 01-03-2005, 06:01 PM i still think blue bear would have pulled off a sick build... he shouldnt have gotten fired.. he was my hero cpc ol' dude 01-03-2005, 06:02 PM Well, that looks just right!! Awesome job!! Of course you know i would drive it!!! ImolaEK 01-03-2005, 07:09 PM Awesome! I was waiting to see who would make one of these. I think the one Boyd put together wasn't as good as this one done by the other guys. I love how your photo's come out! Really like the carshop background with all the tools, etc. Cool Model:) slk320 01-03-2005, 08:34 PM Thanks everyone. Willimo - I decided to put on pinstripe decals later, after I painted everything, so...yeah they have a little silvering. I covered them with dull coat and still nothing. Next time I guess... emufarmer55 01-05-2005, 06:34 PM awesome build. wish mine could come out like that. by the way who makes that kit? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
