What year is your car? 96 and older, the steering wheel must be dropped by removing the four bolts under the steering column. Also, 96 and older, there is a cable in the back of the speedo that must be undone. Work your hand up under the dash to the cable, there is a plastic connecter where it meets the speedo. Wiggle, push, and pull this thing loose and the cluster will come right out (provided you have lowered the steering wheel).

I just replaced mine i found it easier to remove the speed cable on the tranny and push it through the fire wall till i could get the cable off the back. If you interested i found a place that rebuilds the speedos.
www.dashusa.com cost me 150 and sent the speedo out the same day i ordered it had it in two days. all you have to do is send your old back to him.
