2000 Tahoe radio questions

I have a 2000 Tahoe (new-style) with the CD/radio in the dash and slave cassette in the console. No On-star or Bose system. I would like to keep the stock radio but replace the speakers so here's my questions...

1. On Crutchfield, it looks like a 6.5 or 6.75 speaker will be good for front and rear doors. What about the tweeter in the front door panel? Should that be replaced as well? Would 2-way or 3-way be the better way to go?

2. There is that sub in the back near the tire jack. What size is it and would it be worthwhile to replace it as well?

3. What about those two small speakers located along the cargo door pillars in the back? Same question...worth replacing and if so what size are they?

4. I've read on here that the front speakers are rated for 8-ohm impedence. If I replaced them with ones rated for 4-ohms, would that be a big deal?

I'm not that familiar with speaker systems and don't really care for the loud bass...just something that sounds better than the stock and would ideally cost under $300.

So what's the best way for me to do this? Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in sound systems upgrades too since I just bought my Tahoe with the same setup as yours.
