Component CablesAndydg 12-31-2004, 06:44 PM Ok here's the deal I got a new stereo reciever that is compatable with component cables (the ones with the green, blue, red, and white). Will I notice much of a difference with these on my Xbox, PS2, and satelite from the normal RCA cables (red, yellow, white)??? TIA ToyTundra 12-31-2004, 07:52 PM Only if your TV accepts componet signals, then you will notice a difference. i find plain old S-video offers a noticable gain from RCA so that may be a more realistic alternative Andydg 01-01-2005, 08:35 AM Yeah my TV accepts component signals. So I will notice a difference then??? eversio11 01-01-2005, 01:10 PM Component -> S-Video -> RCA -> Coax There's practically no difference between S-video and component when playing video games or watching TV. Now if you had a HD TV and receiver, and you went with a $100 component cable set, then there would be a greater quality over S-video. But either S-video or component is a big step up from RCA. my3rdskyline 01-01-2005, 05:20 PM component is a hell of a lot better than composite and S-Video. I can see the difference between both on my TV because I use a PC on my TV so I can see how clear the resolution is.... but in a video game I'm not sure if it would be that big of a deal because I wonder how good the original source is reguardless of what interface it's being spit out? but it's not going to hurt to just use component video :) Andydg 01-02-2005, 09:50 AM Alright thanks guys...time to order the cables then. ec437 01-02-2005, 02:21 PM and go with the fiber optic audio cables, those are awesome! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
