Installing a BOA remote car starter. Can't seem to locate my factory alarm wire. The instructions say that in the PA it should be light green. I have probed every light green wire in the car. In the drivers door harness, I found out that there are three black wires with one dark green stripe, a light green stripe, and a purple stripe one. Upon activating the alarm-30sec-the interior lights go off (alarm activated). The purple stripe black wire lights up with my tester.
When I hit the unlock button on my remote key fab, the tester lights up when probed on the light green stripe black wire. The instructions say that to test if "this is the alarm wire", put the key in the drivers door lock and turn and hold the key to the unlock postion(Disarm Alarm). This should light up the tester, However it doesnt light the tester. It lights only when I use the remote unlock button. Is this just the wire that activates the door unlock selonoid. The dark green stripe black wire doesnt do s^@*!.
My question does anybody know if these are the wires that correspond to the security system. Oh, and what color and location is the tach wire (engine speed). Please Help! freezing in Duluth.
