bad fuel gaugejigglyjoy 12-30-2004, 09:55 AM My fuel gauge on a 98 PA has jumped it's pin again. The rest of the gauges work. The garage had to reset it and it cost me 55.00. It lasted a month and did it again. I took it to another garage to have the fuel pressure regulator replaced, and they say I need a new instrument cluster to fix the fuel gauge. The price is outlandish! It sounds like a DEWY CHEATUM & HOWE kind of scenario. Does anyone have a likely answer? I cannot fix this myself. jigglyjoy Just adding another little tid-bit this car has pulled on me. I went to the grocery store today plus ran a few errands, 20 + miles. However when I stopped to see my son, the car sat for approx. 2 hours. When I started it to leave the mileage on the trip od says only 4.3 miles, it read 184 when I got to the store. How can this be? I did notice the dash lights appeared to flicker, does that indicate an electrical problem or a spooked car? Could someone please advise me as to what could be going on here. I'd hate to become stranded somewhere. Thank you for all your help jigglyjoy tman 12-31-2004, 03:15 AM Try not to let the fuel tank run below 1/4 tank, that prevent's my mom's 99 from flipping around. www.carstereohelp.com and click car stereo removal, find 99-current park ave, and it shows how to remove the dash with pictures, so you can fix it yourself jigglyjoy 12-31-2004, 07:02 PM Try not to let the fuel tank run below 1/4 tank, that prevent's my mom's 99 from flipping around. www.carstereohelp.com and click car stereo removal, find 99-current park ave, and it shows how to remove the dash with pictures, so you can fix it yourself Thanks tman2093 I don't think I ever let it get that far, but who knows with the digital read outs. I don't think I understand them as well as the older types. jigglyjoy vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
