what subs for 150-220$

I know I can get 2 audiobahn 15's shipped to my door for 150$. I can get two 12" audiobahn alums for 220$, but I have never heard them. Are they that much better? What would you guys do with 150$... and what would you do with 220$?

SR20.. you said a tempest for about 150.. where can I find that? and oh yeah by the way, so everyone knows what im lookin for... my sub amp is 200w x2 RMS @ 4 ohm, 300w x2 RMS at 2 ohm, and 500w RMS @ 4 ohm.

I'm just saying that it must be an Audiobahn because those power ratings aren't physically possible (at least not without some really f'd up circuitry), and Audiobahn is known for giving their amps impossible power ratings.

its the 1200w Xplod actually. I'll look for my manual, because I may be wrong about the numbers. But I believe they are correct. Im happy with the amp too.

cool, I checked that out. Plus that other link worked for me too. My question now is, will one 15" tempest pound as hard as 2 of the audiobahn aluminum 12s? (again, never heard em) I'll just forget about their pair of 15s for 150 because I know the top volume SQ is pretty bad. I would build a custom box for whatever I buy, so what has more potential?

that's not the problem, the drop in power at 2ohm is just due to power supply inefficiencies, the problem is 300x2 @ 2ohm and 500x1 @ 4ohm, it either needs to be 250x2 @ 2ohm or 600x1 @ 4ohm, otherwise it's breaking the laws of physics. I thought Audiobahn was the only one that didn't know how to rate their amps, now Sony is doing it too?



the tempest won't be as loud as the Audiobahns, but it will sound much better and be more reliable
