Is Raising My Car Feasiblemendezj666 12-29-2004, 04:21 AM Hi everyone Im new and was wondering if there might be some people out there to help me. I have a 95 Honda Civic EX and am planning on taking it through a lot of dirt roads on a road trip down to Mexico. My question is what would be the best option for my suspension setup to ensure a relatively stable ride through these dirt roads? I know a lot of people buy springs to lower there car but I would want to raise it as high as possible to combat these dirt roads and have any of you used your suspension set up to handle tough roads / weather and if so how did that turn out? I know a Civic isnt supposed to be an offroad vehicle but believe it can get me there and back and hope some of you can help me who have done suspension modifications and have an idea as to what Im talking about. I appreciate you taking the time to read this and I appreciate any feedback that you may have, even if it is harsh criticism. Thanks again and I hope you guys have a wonderful New Year! greenmonkey 12-29-2004, 06:03 PM raising your car would help with the ride ecspecially on a dirt road, but you should research tires as they will help you a lot more than raising you car, and having the right tire will make sure one of yours doesnt pop in the wrong place. SiGNAL748 12-31-2004, 02:23 PM I doubt there are any suspension setups to raise a civic. Your best option is to get a taller tire. CivicSiRacer 01-02-2005, 10:04 PM You can get a coilover suspension and raise the car above stock height but your camber would become positive which would suck for handling. goinbig 01-04-2005, 03:46 PM Why would you want to raise it just for one road trip?? You would be better off renting a car, or even something like a van that is more sutted to your needs. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
