WIP Aoshima NISMO R34bvia 12-28-2004, 10:50 PM I want to begin by thanking all the incredible modelers who have built this specific kit and all the other Skylines. I blame you all ;-)> This is of course the Aoshima 1:24th NISMO Skyline R34 GTR in Z-tune (and that's a mouthfull!). Tamiya TS-17 over Tamiya primer clearcoated in Nason 2-part automotive clear. The brakes were replaced with hand-cast copies of Tamiya brakes. Not sure if I'm going to put the wing on it or not... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-01.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-02.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-03.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-04.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-05.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-06.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-07.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-08.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-09.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-10.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v296/bviasv650s/nismo/nismo-11.jpg Anyways, thanks for looking! I left my tamiya masking tape on my windshield overnight and some of it "ate through" the plastic. I had to shave it clean and fix it :( r34-gts 12-28-2004, 11:33 PM real nice man i love it! what happened to the vinyl on the left hand side??? Is it just fashion or what??? SchuberT 12-28-2004, 11:53 PM Wow, wingless is so sexy. I HAVE to build this kit. vx_supercharged 12-29-2004, 12:49 AM That looks really good IMO it could use a wing, but still looks good without fujimituner235 12-29-2004, 12:51 AM you have to leave it wingless! ThatRoundHeadedKid 12-29-2004, 12:57 AM A lip wing wouldnt hurt. very subtle, yet noticable not in a flashy way, and actually has a reason in performance! 2. where ARE the vinyls for the other side 3. side view mirrors? anyway looks sick! i really like the nismo Feint Motion 12-29-2004, 01:16 AM A lip wing wouldnt hurt. very subtle, yet noticable not in a flashy way, and actually has a reason in performance! 2. where ARE the vinyls for the other side 3. side view mirrors? anyway looks sick! i really like the nismo Its still InProgress.. Check your PM. :) Hiroboy 12-29-2004, 04:25 AM Very cool looking R34, Paint work is Flawless :) Hiroboy 12-29-2004, 04:51 AM Can I offer you a small tip on the photography ? Your photos are really good, but if you set the camera to manual focus and focus on the area I have indicated in red, you will then have the front and back of the model in focus, not just the front 3/4. I hope I have not offended you. http://img134.exs.cx/img134/6433/00004jo.jpg Hopefully you will then get a result like this http://www.spc.org.uk/nissan/i/calsonic-gtr-2003-010.jpg flyonthewall 12-29-2004, 08:11 AM Very nice indeed! slk320 12-29-2004, 11:24 AM This is a very clean example! Good job! Midnight Racer 12-29-2004, 11:30 AM Very nice progress.Looks better wingless. SkylineFan 12-29-2004, 03:02 PM Beautiful..... I like seeing how mine would have looked with a silver hood and rims!!! mike united 12-29-2004, 03:20 PM Flawless !!! minidreams_n_scale 12-29-2004, 10:22 PM Very very clean build and awsome paint work 2 thumbs up ! tc3house 12-30-2004, 12:39 AM Beautiful paint, decals, and execution. Are those rims painted or did they come like that, cause they are off the chain. Thanks for that photography advice Hiroboy, I've always wondered how the pros do it. bvia 12-31-2004, 12:35 PM Wow! Thats one hella nice paint! What camera are you using! Seems like its a good one, I'm thinking of replacing my junk  ImolaEK, I use a Nikon Coolpix 995. 3+ mgpl and one of the best macro modes around! Thanks for the kind words, Bill bvia 12-31-2004, 12:38 PM Can I offer you a small tip on the photography ? Your photos are really good, but if you set the camera to manual focus and focus on the area I have indicated in red, you will then have the front and back of the model in focus, not just the front 3/4. I hope I have not offended you. Hopefully you will then get a result like this Steve, paintwork isn't flawless, but I hid the imperfection pretty well when I resprayed the panel...;-)> Yeah, I knew I was off on the focus. I simply let the camera autofocus (Nikon 995) and used the timer for the pics. I generally use a center-weighted AF and focus on the middle, but I can also use the 6-point AF and that will allow me to get the entire model in focus, once I take the final shots. The manual focus mode on the 995 is a rather strange affair, because it uses distance as opposed to TTL...The only complaint I have about the camera.... and with pics like yours (and models) any tips are more than welcome! Thanks for the kind words, Bill bvia 12-31-2004, 12:41 PM very smooth and clean! Be careful about leaving the masking tape on the window for too long. I just checked and my windows are fine. Must have been some strange reaction you had! and thanks for the kind words, Bill bvia 12-31-2004, 12:43 PM Everyone, thanks for the kind words, comments, tips and warnings!
