err message on cd playerjcaulk00 12-28-2004, 06:26 PM My girlfriend has a 1999 chevy cavalier and just recently the cd player has not been working. When you put a cd in it just reads err and kicks it out. I have tried everything that has been posted. I have tried cleaning it with compressed air that didn't work. I tried a cd cleaning disc that didn't work at the time. I unconnected the battery and connected it back and for some strange reason the cd cleaning disc started and went through the cleaning cycle. Then I tried several regular cds and they wont work. Now all I can get to work is the cleaning cd. How wierd is that. Any other suggestions before replacing it.
