I am smelling anit-freeze when car is warming an approaches 150 degrees, then the smell disappears when the engine is obtaing normal engine tempature. can anyone tell me what is going on ?

Do you smell the antifreeze inside the car or outside? You may have a leak in the heater core that is causing the smell. Do the windows fog up when you turn on the heater? If not then check to make sure all the hoses clamps are tight and there are no leaks anywhere under the hood. If a clamp is not tight it could leak until the hose expands and then stop causing you to smell the antifreeze.

I can smell the anti-freeze on the in-side when the heater is on and on the outside. when the car warms up, the smell disappears from the inside, but you can smell it from the outside. The smell appears to be coming from the side were the EGR value is located in the engine compartment. The window are not fogging up when I turn the heater on. I did check all the hoses with the exception of the connection to the thermostat, which is near the EGR value. The weather was a little bit warmer this a.m. and I did not notice the smell on the inside or outside. You may be right, some hoses may be expanding after the car is
at operating tempature.

Check the tightness of the thermostat housing. It may have vibrated loose and is allowing a small amount of antifreeze to leak. Be careful not to overtighten. Hopefully this will cure your problem.

If you live where it is cold/very cold outside, I would guess the hose clamps are loose. When the engine warms up it expanse and the hoses seal. I have this problem on my 94 Bonney.

maybe u goit an anti freeze leak?
