EGR Valve/Thermostat help '94 nomaMr.Sonoma 12-28-2004, 12:50 PM Evening people: My '94 noma had an engine light diagnostic done recently and EGR valve code came up. Should I replace the valve or clean it? Don't seem to idle to bad just a little rough occasionally on low idle. Also t seems like I get no heat or very little, plus my temp guage doesn't seem to work (always rests on low) could this be a thermostat problem? Should I replace the thermostat and how easily is this done? Thanks Noma BlazerLT 02-01-2005, 03:24 AM Evening people: My '94 noma had an engine light diagnostic done recently and EGR valve code came up. Should I replace the valve or clean it? Remove the EGR valve, remove any carbon chunks from the pintle, spray the inside of it down with carb or throttle body cleaner and reinstall with a fresh EGR valve gasket. Then reset your computer by pulling the negative battery cable for 10 minutes and you should be good as new. Danlorus 03-13-2005, 05:21 PM Thermosstat is located on top of the engine easy to replace, and only costs $6. I went to NAPA and they pointed exactly which hose it was in. Replaced it and I got all the heat I need now. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
