2000... 4X4 on the fly?

should i be able to pull my 4x4 shifter into 4x without stopping... i think i used to be able to drift her into 4x4 at any speed (well under 90kmh) but now i have to stop... just wonderin if it's my mind or my truck messin with my mind :) i know about the 4 low and stopping and all that stuff but i have to stop to put it in 4 high... any buddy know?

I can shift into 4HI at any speed. So I would think you should be able to do the same.

My manual states that you can toss it into 4HI at any legal speed. As for 4LO, the trans should be in neutral and ideally you would be rolling at 2-3 mph.

Manual t-case, by the way. Wouldn't want one of those auto-crap switches that don't do anything but break..
