What is the real difference between the Camry and the Accord? I mean the look like the some car.

I really do not care about the out side or the in side just how they drive and how long they are going to last.

Thanks

I think the Accord is a slightly sportier version of a Camry really, both cars will last for as long as you want them to, while the Accord has a better, more powerful engine and a better chassis if your driving is a little bit on the "Spirited" side.

The accord has a more powerful engine and Honda's are very reliable and there resale value are high but they are pretty much the same car.But if i had to pick i would pick the accord...

IMO the accord is better in both I4 and v6 versions. both car's will last forever if maintained properly though.

Gotta go with the Camry, seeing as how I own one. They aren't as lively as the Accords, but the engines are a bit torquier and the ride quality is a bit better.

My 02 Accord was a better choice then the 02 Camry. Both cars are pretty bland in styling, but both got high marks for reliability and ride quality (from my wife and I). However, the interior room of the Accord was more to my liking and the feel of the car was better for both of us.

Im driving around in a 02 camry v6 SE...Not the fastest, however, toyotas are the most relible cars out there...hondas are very good too...If your looking for speed get the accord...If you want it to run forever get the camry.(A honda is good at that tho)

I think y'all are thinking about the 03 accord...the 02 accord gets beat proformance wise by the 02 camry...

if we're talkin 03's and up. i'd go with the accord no question. the accord feels more upscale on the inside, the camry looks more upscale on the outside. (sorry, just read that you don't care about that)

neither are all that sporty, but if you had to pick a sportier one, i'd say the accord given the more powerful optional V6 and a suspension tuned more towards the stiffer side of things. the ride isn't as plush as the toyota, doesn't absorb bumps as well but the trade-off is better road feel if you like that. the toyota is roomier but drives like a bigger car. both remain the benchmarks for reliability and build quality so you won't go wrong with either car in that respect. and the accord is now available in hybrid form with like 29/37 mpg. but they're pricey.

i say the accord. although i have a bias towards hondas. :p

I agree with what was said before, they're both virtually the same car! If I had to pick, even though I love Hondas, for a highway country like Australia, you need the more torque available in the Camry. (also since they're both family cars, and every asian family in australia either owns or owned a camry, it's only right to follow the law :p:iceslolan )

Hum I guess the problem i am have is that I really like a fun driveing car. But I have a 160 mil. comute everyday to work. And I am doing feild support so I am going to put alot of miles on this car per year and I do not want to start haveing problems with this car before it is payed off.

Also I am really looking for a nice ride and quiet vary quiet. The road noise of my Sable is killing me. + the roads in PA well..... Suck... I mean really suck!

So I do not know. What i am getting from you all is that the Accord is going to be more fun to drive and the Camry may or may not be more reliable but less fun to drive. Well I am just going to have to go and drive them both and see what I like.

But hey thanks guys for the help.

Well Ok that guys. Today I went and test drived both and ended up with the Accord EX. After I dealed a little it was the same price the Camry but with the opptions I wanted. Where as the opptions I wanted would have been alot more on the camry.

I think the Accord is a little nicer and more powerful. But it is less torqier and has a lower max trailer load. They are both fairly spirited cars. I do tow summer/winter toys occasionally so I like the torque of the 1MZF-E before the boosted horsepower w/o the torque. There is no power on my mom's 04 till about 3k RPMs. I like how my 99 has power from around 12/400 all the way to the 6100 redline. Depends on what you are looking for.

I've driven a 1997 Accord V6 and I own a 1996 Camry V6 LE, and my Camry definitely has a torquier and more usable powerband. The Accord is a little sportier, especially in the handling department.

id go with the accord. i think its engineered better. it uses double wishbone/multilink setup for superior chamber, and toe control for better handling, and it gives it a smoother ride. i think its transmission is smoother, and i like how the engine puts out power, like a little better top end.

can you get the v6 02 or the 03 accord sedan with a manual transmission?

You can't get any Accord V6 sedans with a manual transmissions as far as I know. The new V6 coupes come with a six-speed, though.

In my opinion, if I have to but one out of these two. I'll get the Accord. Even the Camry looks way better...(from the back) But Toyota has been known for the highly priced service...

According my knowledge, the 96 Camry V6 is a 3.0L, and the 97 Accord V6 is a 2.7L. How can you compare these two together?Because it's not a fair compare. Try the 98 Accord V6 and the 98 Camry V6. And you'll know which is better.

My sister owns a 2002 Accord EX V6, and it isn't much better. It's more powerful, but you still have to rev it up a bit to get the power, that's just how Hondas are. I'm just not a big fan of the Accord.

So you need torque not horsepower then...
