Alright I got the dakota running now how much will this baby tow? Its got the 5.2 V8 ext. cab. I will check the gearing tomorrow. I tow a jeep every once in a while. I know all the usual stuff like tranny cooler ect. that I will need

It's got a 318 in it. And you don't need a tranny cooler.

how much weight can be towed safely with the wheelbase and size of the truck. I know the engine can take it. Also my trailer has trailer brakes so that will help.

Don't lose any sleep over this. If all you're gonna pull is a jeep then you're fine. If you ever decide to get like a 5th wheel travel trailer or something extravagant like that, they'll tell you if you can pull it safely. I'm sure you could.
