whats a single turbine and what does it do?PTran 12-24-2004, 02:44 PM i was reading some stuff and it said that for the fd if u pick option B u get a big single turbine anyone know what it is or what does it do? 2of9 12-24-2004, 07:58 PM uhhhh....is this for Initial D or....for real life??? cuz i swear a STOCK FD comes stock Twin Turbo in real life, but "single" turbo in the game. That would be tight if you can hear the turbos spool in the game tho. Well, i have no idea...good luck.. AErrorist 12-24-2004, 08:36 PM Yes, an FD is twin turbo from the factory. Changing to a single turbo would greatly increase power in the top end, but at a sacrifice down low. Driven right a drift car could afford to have a big single Turbo. You just have to keep it in the top end of its power band (for the RX-7 about redline) and hold it there. Meaning you'll probaly need to use an Manual tranny. drftk1d 12-28-2004, 12:36 PM fd comes twin turbo in both game and real life. you can have a single turbo thats decent sized (around a T04E) have godd midrange or you can have a really big single (like HKS T51). In the game it makes your car like keisuke's girlfriend's (kyoko's) FD. Aerowitz 12-29-2004, 02:30 PM Kyoko/Kylie isn't Keisuke's girlfriend, though I wish they could work out... Yeah, Kylie opted to swap out her twin turbos for a single slug. I prefer upgraded twin turbos simply because they are sequential. No turbo lag or any of that mess to deal with. But maybe I'm getting your question wrong. Do you have no idea what a single turbine is? It's just a turbocharger, which is a forced intake system that compresses air so you can make a lot of horsepower the easy way (or hard, depending on how far you go with the setup). I really don't wanna go further into the whole shebang, so let's leave it at that. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
