My 2002 S-10 Blazer won`t switch from defrost/vent to floor heat ! The dealer said 8 to 10 hours to take the dash out and put it back in plus parts. $52 an hour!!! Ouch. Any help????? The warranty is up,59,000 miles on it but it sure runs good. Thanks,SmokinTom.

02 is pretty new to me, but I'm thinking this still uses vacuum to actuate the doors. Check out under the hood for a broken or disconnected vacuum line. Had any work done under the hood lately that would have affected this? Try an independant mechanic if there is one around your area. These guys can be pretty sharp on this and sure not at dealer robbery costs.

Don't know where you live but the local dealer is $69/hr.
The 02 controls on a Blazer I have not worked on. However, I have on the trucks. The doors are controlled by servos. Check fuses and if they are OK you may be looking at the controller if no functions are working at all. If it is only the vent to floor, then it may be the servo.

Two motors can be reached by dropping the glove box door. Open the box. slightly close it, push back the tab and drop the box all the way down. Now you should be able to see two vac diaphrams with 1/4 inch (or so) hoses attached. Play around and see what happens. Oh, did I mention to take the stuff out of the glove box before dropping it?
